Chaukori : Around 183 from Bhimtal. The charming and picturesque Chaukori is situated in the heart of Pithoragarh district 16 km from Vijaypur or 46 km from Bageshwar. Literally cupped in a bowl by the surrounding majestic Himalayas. Chaukori is famous not only for the magnificent view.  It offers from Nanda Devi to Panchachuli and beyond but quite unrivalled for its  breathtakingly beautiful sunset.

 

Corbett National Park : It is about 100 km from Bhimtal. The Corbett Park is first national park of India established in the year 1936. it was named Hailey National Park. In 1957 ,the park was rechristened as the Corbett National Park in the memory of Late Jim Corbett great naturalist, eminent conservationist.

 

Ramgarh: Around 25 kms  from Bhimtal, it is a picturesque hamlet in the heart of orchard land in the foothills of the Himalayas. Many writers and thinkers have been drawn to the beauty of Ramgarh.

Bhimtal: Bhimtal is located at an altitude of 1370 mtr. Nainital is about 22 kms & Bhowali is 11 kms from Bhimtal. The pride of Bhimtal is a beautiful lake which offers magnificent vistas for tourists. The lake is larger than Naini lake. Tourist enjoys here boating in lake. There is an island amid lake a restaurant is located atop it. Tourist visit here by boats. The distance of island from lake shore is 91 mtr. There is a 17th century Bhimeshwar temple complex along the 40 feet high dam . The local bus stand and taxi stand is situated near it.

 

Sat Tal : Originally a cluster of seven lakes, now reduced to five (since two have dried up), Sat Tal (8 km from Bhimtal) has all it takes to veil the place in a kind of mystique densely wooded hills, roads that glide under a canopy of gossamer green oak trees, pines and dark brooding firs, little creeks along the shores of the lakes and boat rides on the placid waters.

 

Ranikhet : Around 62 Kms from Bhimtal, the quiet and beautiful cantonment township of Ranikhet is famous for its salubrious climate, balmy breeze captivating and panoramic Himalayan View and soothing and pollution free greenery of pines and oaks. It is also famous as the regimental center of the Kumaon Regiment of Indian Army- one of the most prestigious and the most decorated of all.

 

Almora : Around 65 km from Bhimtal. Almora is a magnificent town with a long history. The Kashaya Hill on which the town is built finds a mention in the scripture of the Skanda Purana. In 1560 Raja Kalyan Chand of Kumaon made it the capital of his kingdom. At that time it was called Rajapur and ancient inscriptions on many places still have Rajapur carved on them. The rule of the Chand dynasty came to an end after the gorkhas from Nepal occupied the  area in 1790.

 

Naukuchiya Tal :  Naukuchiya Tal is around 5 km from Bhimtal, it is the deepest and by far the most picturesque lake in the Kumaon region and derives its name from the nine corners which came together to form it. It is a tranquil, pleasant expanse of water, reflected green by the low, wooded hills cradling it and surrounded by 70 acres of predominantly oak forests.

 

Nainital : Nainital is located at a distance of 22 km from Bhimtal, this is the place for a quiet holiday. Nainital is a glittering jewel in the Himalayan necklace, blessed with scenic natural splendor and varied natural resources. Dotted with lakes, Nainital has earned the epithet of Lake   District' of India. Places of local Excursion in Nainital are : Naina Devi Temple, Snow view, & many more.

 

Kausani : Around 110 km from Bhimtal.. In Kausani the glory of the snow crowned Himalayan range reaches it's pinnacle when the sun rays turn them into crimson and gold. Mahatma Gandhi, who spent 12 days in 1929 at Kausani, penned his memorable commentary on the Geeta-Ana-Sakti yoga inspired by the scenic grandeur of this richly gifted spot.

 

Muketshwar : Muketshwar is situated at distance of 38 kms from Bhimtal, at 8000 ft  this is an idyllic sojourn in the lap of the mountains and rolling meadows. Surrounded by fruit orchards and thick coniferous forest. It provides a majestic view of the Himalayas. It is popular for the century old Shiva Temple, Chauthijalli rock formations, Angora wool sheep farm, rejuvenating forest walks and enchanting sunsets.
